The tassel's worth the hassle!
I woke up late in the morning, well, intentionally, all because I thought the Pre-Graduation ceremony will start at exactly 1pm in the afternoon but shocker, I was wrong. Pre-Grad Ceremony= 8:00am... and the time I woke up? Another shocker...
The time when Jonah looked at the clock=8:30am. Splendid!
I hurried up and tried to fix myself as fast as I could. I am one of the awardees and I think it would be nice if I'll be there by the time the host calls my name, right? So when I got the chance to step on the grounds of Mendiola, I hurriedly gatecrashed the school's auditorium. Oh well, even though I was blazing up and down the stairs, I was late. My name has been called already. Hahaha whatthef.
Let's skip the disappointment part and talk about the nice things that happened in the ceremony. Okay, there was a nice crowd of Juniors and Seniors and a couple of tear-jerker songs and AVPs for us, seniors. I can't believe that I am graduating already!
Of course I am happy that finally, after 4 long years in college, I'd finally get hold of that hot diploma but a part of me is unsure of what's gonna happen after I throw my graduation cap up in the air on April.
WHAT WILL HAPPEN AFTER APRIL 13?
It's a hard question to answer but the feeling of excitement, of seeing your parents teary eyes when you receive your diploma is already an event to look forward to. I cannot wait that I am about to hand them my life-long promise since I was a kid.. that is to graduate college and make them proud. It's everybody's parents' wish to see their sons and daughters go up the stage in their lovely togas to receive their awards and diplomas as proofs of their hardwork in school. It is also, I believe, the most rewarding day for parents... after almost 22 years or more of investing good amount of money to universities where they send their kids to.
Finally. I'm nearing the finish line... I just have to wait for few weeks and I'm ready to battle in the real field.
To my friends who are also nearing the finish line of their school life, I am proud of you! And I salute your parents for their undying support especially when you have to go home late or you have to skip important family gatherings just because of school. You are blessed. We are blessed.
School is fun... it has always been fun. So don't be sad if we have to leave the four corners of our dear old university because THE TASSEL'S WORTH THE HASSLE :)
