Nostalgia.

It was one of the days I usually bum at home. And just like anyone who's stuck at home would do, I watched DVDs. Others were re-runs and others were not. One of the 'others' is the movie entitled FAME. It was a nice movie... reminds me of Step-Up movie though, where students break rules for them to discover and showcase their potentials. What's moving in this movie is how the mentors inspire the students through words of wisdom. They are all in Performing Arts, of which I could relate since my course isn't far from theirs.

Each character has struggles to face with... be it in school, in their circle of friends or in their families. Those facts entirely depict a life of a person... crucial yet entertaining. I did not regret staying up late for that movie... worth every little tick-tock. :)

I watched tv with my 4-year old nephew. We watched Going Bulilit on ABS-CBN since it's his all-time favorite! I was amazed when the show featured my good old school where I spent my nursery to grade 6 years! Angelicum College of QC! The school looks different now. The buildings were newly painted and all the rooms have AC! How devastating because I did not experience that! Hahaha! The elementary grounds are different! Nicer than ever :)

The segment made me miss my elementary days but much more my elementary friends who used to stay with me at the fishpond. :) Nostalgia huh? Good old days. :)

The Apparition of Urbandub: My first Udub experience!

The group with Gab of Urbandub

The Sound Of The Giant South is gaining more recognition around the nation like never before. At the forefront of the whole movement is a band that has a record that surpasses most bands than that of the bands that have come out of the Queen City of Cebu. They are none other than Urbandub.

From the very first day that this band was formed (in the year 2000), they were destined to be something more than the ordinary. Forced to be independent due to the lack of support coming from major record companies, Urbandub released their debut album called BIRTH. Off of this album, the hit tracks "Come", "Give" and "Would You Go" launched and took their world by storm. Unique, timely and yet experimental, it was something that entertainment scenes around the Philippines needed: a kick start into the future of original music.

Urbandub is Gabby Alipe (Vocalist / Guitarist), Lalay Lim (Bassist), John Mendoza (Drummer) and John Dinopol (Lead Guitarist).

  • According to the lead vocalist Gabby Alipe behind the band's name:
When we were just starting out..urbandub was supposed to be a reggae band...we were suppose to play reggae mixed with dub, ska, dancehall, hiphop, and rock. A perfect example of what urbandub would have been--is the song "sailing" and "eating me" --that was the style we were suppose to be playing around with--since we were suppose to be a reggae/dub band, hence the name, urbandub. But becuz of the series of line up changes--and new influences--we became what we are today! The name just kinda got stuck and we never bothered to change it. Soo there you go..the story behind the name "urbandub"

Urbandub's music video First of Summer is about a girl rebelliously going out with her boyfriend. The band later released Endless, A Silent Whisper which shows the events that happened before and after what was shown in First of Summer. Both videos were directed by Marie Jamora and were shot in 3 days.

-according to researches on the net-

I watched Urbandub's gig at CSB SDA Cafeteria! It was really a dream come true because I'm a great fan! And I mean greaaaat! Hahaha! If people say that they had them at hello, I'd say they had me in Endless, A Silent Whispher. It was the first song I heard from their album and since that day I liked their music. Urbandub is the one responsible why I liked listening to rock music. I was then a hiphop-and-rnb type of girl but when my friend lend me his earphones, I knew that my music taste has to change. My friend also gave me a gift since he knew that I liked their music. He gave me their two albums... Sabay! So I was stunned! He had them autographed by all the band members, but yeah, I never saw them play... that's the downside.

But tonight's different. I was able to meet them face-to-face, in that sense hahaha! Why? Because I was standing right in front of Gabby Alipe! Sweeeeet! Just few inches away from the strings of his guitar! Hahaha! But hell yeah, I can't help but be stunned. Na-starstruck ako. Finally, after a long wait! I always see their videos, I have it in my MP5 Player, even the ones with Franco. And kanina, wow, I can't believe that they are already in front of me! Waaaaah! I am more than happy!

I still think about it. I can't help but view the pictures we have in my camera. Tons of pictures I could say! I even recorded their performance on my cellphone hahaha! Addict much? And when we were outside, getting a hang of it all, Gab went out of SDA and smoked. He was right in front of us! We can't say a word! Buti nalang Gellie, Axle's friend had the guts to ask Gab if we could have a picture with him. Akala ko kaming girls lang, pero pati boys, sumama! Hahaha!

First time hurts? Nah.. First time's the sweetest! Hahahaha!

Urbandub, good shiiiiiit mahn!

Thanks, Pop! :)

Hey bloggers! FYI, I lost my phone last Feb15 and it broke my heart. :(

But today, my father made me so happy because he bought me a new phone and an external flash for my DSLR camera. I've been eyeing on the external flash since last two months and I really want to have one especially when I'm out with my friends or I'd like to shoot outdoors during night time. My father is so kind and thoughtful. He knows how much I love photography and they have been supportive ever since. Years back, when I was still a kid, my father handed me a film camera and bought me this 'film', I dont know how many shots it could accommodate, all I can remember is that I utilized it... very much! He let me shoot whatever I want and he even brought me to breathtaking places and horizons. I was nine years old when I fell in love with photography :)

About the phone he bought me, it's a nokia 2700. I am not a fan of Qwerty Pads and those slide wi-fi phones. I want a sinpler one so he got me a Nokia 2700. It boasts a 2 MP camera, music player, 2GB memspace, etc. Enough to cater my needs... even after college. :)

Thank you so much, Papa Dear for giving me cool presents!
Spark (my camera) is lookin' good now :D

Remember that the truest love, is one where your love for each other is greater than your need for each other.

Nothing beats the "smile-and-sweet-hug" combo after a long argument.

For couples who have been in a relationship for almost one year or more, arguments can be just a part of growing-up stage of the relationship. Arguments do not break you apart but instead makes you stronger. Luckily, for our case, (will be spending our 2nd anniv this march) arguments add up spice in our relationship. We become closer and sweeter every after argument. For me, the hugs he give me after the argument are outstanding. I can feel the sincerity and the love :) Cheesy much? But so true! :)

Kisses are sweet but hugs are more sincere. It brings your heart closer to your partner's heart and the tightness of the hug could speak for the sincerity he's trying to show. I can feel him. I can feel the love. :)

And what's even more relieving? Say after the argument, you and your partner had a conversation about the things that transpired, the realizations and stuff... you tend to lower down your pride and justify your side without bias. It is where you admit your mistakes and suggest things that can make your relationship better. You and your partner could just laugh your asses out every after justification, yes. The openness surely helps. It's like a 'no judgment' discussion. It removes the pain you felt and makes you feel better.

For me, that feeling is rewarding. The feeling of asking forgiveness and the feeling of being forgiven. :) I couldn't ask for more... I am more than happy :)

The tassel's worth the hassle!

I woke up late in the morning, well, intentionally, all because I thought the Pre-Graduation ceremony will start at exactly 1pm in the afternoon but shocker, I was wrong. Pre-Grad Ceremony= 8:00am... and the time I woke up? Another shocker...

The time when Jonah looked at the clock=8:30am. Splendid!

I hurried up and tried to fix myself as fast as I could. I am one of the awardees and I think it would be nice if I'll be there by the time the host calls my name, right? So when I got the chance to step on the grounds of Mendiola, I hurriedly gatecrashed the school's auditorium. Oh well, even though I was blazing up and down the stairs, I was late. My name has been called already. Hahaha whatthef.

Let's skip the disappointment part and talk about the nice things that happened in the ceremony. Okay, there was a nice crowd of Juniors and Seniors and a couple of tear-jerker songs and AVPs for us, seniors. I can't believe that I am graduating already!

Of course I am happy that finally, after 4 long years in college, I'd finally get hold of that hot diploma but a part of me is unsure of what's gonna happen after I throw my graduation cap up in the air on April.

WHAT WILL HAPPEN AFTER APRIL 13?

It's a hard question to answer but the feeling of excitement, of seeing your parents teary eyes when you receive your diploma is already an event to look forward to. I cannot wait that I am about to hand them my life-long promise since I was a kid.. that is to graduate college and make them proud. It's everybody's parents' wish to see their sons and daughters go up the stage in their lovely togas to receive their awards and diplomas as proofs of their hardwork in school. It is also, I believe, the most rewarding day for parents... after almost 22 years or more of investing good amount of money to universities where they send their kids to.

Finally. I'm nearing the finish line... I just have to wait for few weeks and I'm ready to battle in the real field.

To my friends who are also nearing the finish line of their school life, I am proud of you! And I salute your parents for their undying support especially when you have to go home late or you have to skip important family gatherings just because of school. You are blessed. We are blessed.

School is fun... it has always been fun. So don't be sad if we have to leave the four corners of our dear old university because THE TASSEL'S WORTH THE HASSLE :)

Healthy living.

It was a looong day and we have been reliable on alcohol lately so Axle and I decided to jog around UST this afternoon. It was fun running and walking up and down the lovers' lane and the football field... and VERY TIRING TOO!

This is the second time we jogged together and perhaps the most tiring between the two. Since Axle is a football player, he could run up and down the field for hours.. and me? What's my sport? Golf. Hahahaha! Doesn't involve any running but needs a lot of stamina for walking.. so I walked half of the time instead. Hahahaha!! But it was tiring too! Imagine spending 30-40 mintues running/walking on the grounds of UST... nakaka-uhaw din noh!

After a long fitness day with Ax, he treated me in Jollibee. He bought me fries and we went to our favorite kainan at Maceda. Egoy's or popularly known as Matnog's. Sizzling meals! :) We had T-Bone and Sirloin.. so wala rin yung jinogging namin hahaha!

Forgiveness is giving someone permission to make you stronger.

(Feb21)
It was a day that I did feel a little dizzy. Why? Answer: Hangover.

I lack sleep and my body's time clock doesn't want to cooperate but never mind, I had fun last night. Hahahaha! Right, friends?

About the title, I just realized that forgiving makes you a stronger person. After all the fights and hurtful words you have said to your partner or a friend, it all boils down to forgiving and being forgiven. It's a realization that two people could let go of their differences and learn from their mistakes hence, making each other stronger.

Nothing beats the feeling of saying sorry and being forgiven after a very big trouble you have caused. Masarap din yung feeling na manlalambing or manunuyo ka. It feels like you have the convincing power with your actions or little acts of sweetness like tugging his shirt while saying sorry or holding tight his hands and hugging him from behind. Believe me, the hug after an argument is the most relieving and most intimate of all the hugs. :)

And that's why I have to attest that Hugs are way more better than Kisses :)

Hangover.. and upside down.

Finale. After the three GSM blue :)

DJ was the one who took this picture :)

It was a very spontaneous lakad with my dear old friends. First, Sheila went to our house and found me lying on the bed, sleeping. I thought I was dreaming when she woke me up haha! But it's all good. I know she has problems and she needed my advice (hahaha wtf) and she needed some company. After long hours of just chatting and watching Jay together, she dragged me to go with her in MetroBar. They have this big school event there, so I said to her that I'm not in the mood to dress-up. She invited DJ instead. They went inside and looked for Sheila's friends. That's the night we met Chrislyn. A stateside chic. :) She's cool and she can understand little tagalog :) Laugh trip!

We went to Tomas and drank at Benito's. Good vibes, good crowd. Everybody was game but due to some financial difficulties, we decided to have a house party instead. We drove from Tomas Morato to North Fairview. How far? I can't even remember. Too drunk to notice all the road signs haha kidding! Damn far i'd say! :))

So when we got there, we grabbed some alcohol to drink and some chips to enjoy. The next thing we knew, we were all laughing inside our friend's house. Loud. Extraordinary. Spontaneous!

I won't forget that night because it's the first time I vomitted because of alcohol. Award-winning grape juice puke. Eeewww! But the night was fun and I really enjoyed my friends' company.

One thing now is for sure. When you have problems, you can count on your friends :)

After a long productive day, I had to relax myself. So when I checked my wallet and saw my free tickets from ABS-CBN, I grabbed my phone and texted my friends... asked them who wants free tix. Unfortunately, nothing confirmed. So I dragged Dayle to go with me instead. Hahaha! She said yes! No second thoughts! So we hurried up and went to UST.

It's a concert sponsored by ABSCBN News and Current Affairs. It's "AKO MISMO" Boto Mo, Ipatrol Mo. They also had a registration booth where thousands of thomasians and non-thomasians registered. Gooooood crowd! :)

Together with us are our friends from third year. They had to cover the event for their news video prod. Complete with cameras and video cam, I saw Mikeey, Axle's cousin. We chatted for awhile and he asked Jay Contreras, his friend and neighbor, to give him a backstage or VIP pass. Jay of Kamikazee did not hesitate. So Mikeey got in and he was very happy haha!

KJWAN really drove me crazy! So Mikeey met me at the VIP entrance gate and told the security that Im with him. Instant! We went inside and enjoyed the concert! :) Thank you so much Mikeey! :)

As for the bands that played that night, there was PERYODIKO, BARBIE ALMALBIS, KJWAN, ROCKSTEDDY, SANDWICH, IMAGO, JULIAN, PAROKYA NI EDGAR, KAMIKAZEE and many more! that's all i could remember haha! Kamikazee and Parokya ni Edgar drove the crowd really wild! and i mean wild! I love them!!!

Instant Upper!

Hollister tops :)

Victoria Secret colognes and watch :)
*in the states, if you wear that watch, it shows that you're supporting
the campaign on Prevention of Breast Cancer :)

Last Feb 18 wasn't good for me and I woke up at the wrong side of the bed. Bad mood for a starter? Not good diba? But when I heard my dad's voice, I got up from the bed and greeted him. he's been away for 2 days and so I've got lots of stories to share with him. He fist handed me this big bag of Victoria's Secret and when I peeked, I saw lots of stuffs inside!

It's from Tita Agnes and Tito Joel (Papa's inaanak sa kasal)! They are also my Grandma's friends back in Cali. They are so thoughtful because they sent me good stuffs and I mean gooooood!! :) Thank you so much! :D

Til her heart gets paralyzed.

I kept thinking about what happened and what could not have happened.

The scene of Ms. Concerned shouting at Mr. Hotheaded is not a nice sight. It could be a heartbreaking experience for Ms. Concerned who never raised her voice when she's mad over the phone... especially in public. But human as she is, she has the tendency to get mad over big things... specifically to things that she knows she did not do. If asked what were the things that piss her off... flooding texts. It is not Ms. Concerned's thing nor forte.

Blame it on the network. If there's a delay, she can't do anything. She can't play dumb either... and she only cares. She could resend her texts over and over again just to make sure Mr. Hotheaded would get it. And what will be the impression if he still doesn't reply? Of course, Ms. Concerned will think of "baka di nanaman narereceive... matxt nga ulit." And so, flooding could really happen.

I know and I'm pretty sure that cellphones don't get drowned when someone Concerned texts randomly or constantly. Aren't you happy that someone Concerned fills up your whole inbox? Aren't you aware that Ms. Concerned would just like to make sure that you receive her messages? Aren't you happy that Ms. Concerned is thinking about how you are right now? Aren't you happy that someone like Ms. Concerned take all the pains to let you know how concerned she is?

I just hope Mr. Hotheaded did not let his hotness rule over his heart, and I just wish Ms. Concerned did not care... I just wish she was NUMB.

Numb enough. And getting number every single f***ing day.

So that she wouldn't give a damn when her beloved hangs up the phone and chooses to be with the people who doesn't even care about the situation. So that she wouldn't care about how much pain she feels everytime she gets rejected. So she would not be obliged to cry when she's hurt. Numb. Numb. Numb. Numb till her heart gets paralyzed.

But that's not possible, and I think that is not even bound to happen.
Why? BECAUSE SHE CARES. :'(

We built this CITY on rock and roll!

JKE for JAKE

That sign is a headturner already-for me :)

This one is indeed a PACE BREAKER!

The lights

Nice wheels from Jake Tresvalles!

I like the Civic 2009. Okay, but change the 'like' to past tense and you know what I like right now. CITY. Yes, that CITY! Very hip Honda City. And FYI bloggers out there, I may be a girl but I'm a sucker for cars. I mean it. :)

Just a month ago, I saw a City in 'dressed to kill' set-up. Very stunning black Honda City. I really liked how he designed it-from the side skirts to the stickers. My eyes were really glued and I kept thinking about it. So I said, "Ayoko na ng Civic, okay na sakin yang City." Hahahaha! In a snap!

J.Tresvalles' car was designed specifically for him. Exterior-ally speaking, his taste is good. The lights, the curves, and all that. Interiors? Superb! He didn't change anything there but the light. It's blue. Hahaha! The car smells like lemon. :) New! I dint check the sound system but Im pretty sure it could rock the whole neighborhood. Trust me.

I wish I could get one like this too. Come graduation!! :)

Cheers for you, lovely couple!

I woke up this morning with gloomy aura. I wasn't feeling good. Sipon sipon sipon, why have you forsaken me? :(

But things looked up finally when I heard my name in the four walls of the auditorium. It was our Meeting with the Registrars VPs.. where there is, of course, the traditional long lists of names of graduating students being announced with full blast sound systems. Ha! So everybody waited and hoped for their names to be heard.

When the meeting's over, we went to Mcdo and waited for my classmate to fetch me. We went to our OJT site and just enjoyed the site. Our bosses were jolly and everybody was nice. When we got the chance, we went out to grab some things to eat. We stayed and chatted with our schoolmates in Ministop. Sakto naman that there was a BOTO MO IPATROL MO registration booth and we heard that they are giving out free concert tickets when you sign-up. The tickets are for the Ako Mismo concert in UST Parade Grounds tomorrow evening. Gee! Im excited haha!

Evening.

I was invited by my close friend to take part in the celebration of their 6th Anniversary. It was a surprise party for her girlfriend, who've been dear to me since highschool, Michelle. 6 long years? I surely have witnessed their ups and downs as a couple. I thought Justin was going to propose to her because he invited us and his tropa. Quite a crowd already. We were all teasing him because we thought that he was going to propose. Hahaha! But we were wrong. He told me that Proposal will be a big thing. He'll do a different one for Michelle. Something that everybody would not forget, perhaps something that would intrigue the Media men and the news. I told him, "Ano? Sa billboard mo ba ilalagay yung proposal mo?" and he said, "Hindi. Basta, magugulat kayong lahat." Hahahaha! I know it will happen 3-5years from now. At least, I bet. But whatever it is, I am happy for both of them. 6 long years is an achievement and staying together for that long is really a committment that is bound to last. Congrats Michelle and Justin! Happy Anniversary!

The blue bat juice (vodka, sprite, gatorade) is still an epic :)

Repent.

Today isn't extraordinary, but yes, it's Ash Wednesday where people go to the church and have their foreheads marked with ash.

Let me start with my morning. I got up early from bed and headed straight to the figure trimmer. What a very productive workout, hahaha! So when I got to my OJT site, I noticed that everyone wasn't busy. I wasn't able to talk to anyone except to my supervisor, Ms. Jane. She told me that she wanted to but a DSLR camera. Photography is my interest and so i shared some of my ideas regarding the matter. It was like my ideas were being trusted by someone superior than me and for me that's already rewarding.

After my OJT, I went out to meet-up with Axle. We went to Christ the King to attend the mass. It was solemn and everybody participated. I am so lucky that I was with him and we both prayed. It has been a long time since we last attended mass at CTK.

If asked what I prayed for, I'd say:
1. Thank you Lord for all the blessings.
2. Sorry for all my sins.
3. Give my parents long and healthy life so that we may stay together longer.
4. Grant Axle's family peace of mind, health and love.
5. Always enlighten and guide Axle's thoughts that he may excel in school.
6. Give us more strength and love as we celebrate our 2nd year together :)
7. I know Lord that Graduation day is near, grant me and my friends tighter bonds so that we may stay in touch even after college.
... and so on.

I've got so many things to pray for. :)

Today is a lovely day :)

Valentine's Day.

So, let me start by saying... "ILOVEYOU."

It's the day couples from all over the world are waiting for. Streets are filled with red stuffs, enough to remind everyone to spread the love. Flower shops are very busy, hotels and motels are fully booked, restaurants have long waiting lines, and traffic is not any better.. but for single people, this day is just another day of "Single-Awareness-Day!" or also known as S.A.D.

Friends from that category would celebrate Valentine's day in groups and exchange bitter stories. But nonetheless, after all those shared hurtful experience, they tend to laugh their asses out at the end of the day. It is always good to have your friends around... with or without a 'significant other'.

As for me, I celebrated my Valentine's Day a liitle bit too late. Axle and I had to go through series of celebrations with our families, which is the very rewarding of everything. I celebrated my Feb 14 with the whole clan because our Grandmother just got here from Cali. It is like a welcoming party for her as well. But before going home, my family and I dropped by to Axle's house. :) At least I saw him on valentine's day! That's a bonus!

We celebrated yesterday our 2nd Valentine's day together. It was a very personal and very usual celebration. No fancy cards, no extravagant gifts... Just the two of us :) He gave me a flower, my favorite. And i thank him so much for taking all the pains in getting one. I know the flowershops have hectic schedules and long waiting lines to get it done. :) Thank you so much Axle! You made me smile :)

This is my newest blog, so read on.

It was just recently that I have decided to start having this blogspot. I have my other blog (Photographed) but it only consists of random photos I have taken. I decided to start a new one. Only this time, it would include my thoughts about my everyday experience.

Yesterday, we had this Presidentials 2010 event at school where Presidential candidates from all over the Philippines-independent or not- graced the event. The school's auditorium was very jampacked! We couldn't even find a seat so we decided to stand right down the stage where lots of cameramen where standing with their tripods. After hours of anticipating, the event finally started. The presidentiables started to give out their speeches and answer questions from panelists and students. At first, it was very impressive but I cannot prevent myself from disagree-ing with them from time to time. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion right? :)

I just hope and pray that us, Filipinos, are wiser now than before when it comes to voting. We should vote a president that doesn't care about what he/she will be remembered of when he/she steps down of power but... what he/she has done to the people and the country. ACTION and not popularity.
